I am a psychologist practicing in New York City, offering mindfulness-based, energetic, compassionate therapy that emphasizes embracing greater self-compassion, curiosity, presence, and genuineness.
I use a flexible, integrative approach that meets you where you are. With extensive training in mindfulness, trauma recovery, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and humanistic therapy, I can teach you to overcome painful patterns and improve your work, relationships, and life.
Psychotherapy offers a beautiful and unique opportunity for healing, self-discovery, and resilience. I am reminded daily of the honor of being allowed to see my clients’ true selves and participate in their growth. It is an honor that I cherish.
Please contact me if you think we may be a good fit for pursuing your growth.
I practice the gold standard in OCD recovery, Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP). ERP teaches you to reduce ineffective worrying, catastrophic thinking, and time-consuming compulsions and replace them with healthy coping skills. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) including ERP and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) can teach you to get back into the driver’s seat of your mind and take control of your life.
I use an integrative approach in recovery from trauma and attachment wounds including EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, and Internal Family Systems (IFS) that allows for traumatic memories to become unstuck and heal. These approaches help you heal from trauma and distressing life events more quickly than standard talk therapy. Trauma therapy, informed by neurobiology and modern brain research, allows the mind to access its natural healing abilities and release the pain, fear, and confusion associated with distressing events. These interventions teach you to overcome the problematic patterns that you find yourself repeating in your life and relationships.
“A cult is any group that won’t let you leave with your dignity intact.” - Diane Hamilton
As a trauma therapist, I am uniquely positioned to help people who have left high-control groups. A high-control group is any organization, religion, or relationship in which the members are strongly influenced by a leader or small group of leaders. High-control groups often oppose critical thought, encourage magical thinking, and implant self-doubt and self-blame. These experiences are deeply traumatic and can upend a cult survivor’s sense of self and the world. Using trauma-based therapeutic approaches and a compassionate understanding of how smart, well-meaning people can find themselves in a high-control group, I can help you make sense of your experience and heal the fear, moral injury, confusion, and grief that you may be experiencing.
I specialize in working with neurotypical partners in a neurodiverse relationship. If your partner has been diagnosed or you suspect that they are on the Autism Spectrum, I can help you navigate the complicated waters of learning to speak the new language of Autism. You can learn how to better communicate, live, and co-parent with your partner while we make space for your grief, confusion, and frustration. Neurodiverse couples literally have different brains and we can make concrete steps to bring you closer and understand each other better.
I have been featured as an expert contributor in Huffington Post, Business Insider, Headspace, Bustle, and Women’s Health. You can learn more about my media contributions on our In The Media page.

Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) is the gold standard for the treatment of OCD. ERP helps you to free yourself from the cycle of obsessions and compulsions. It effectively reduces anxiety, intrusive thoughts, and the mental or behavioral responses that result. This is a powerful skill that can significantly help you to develop long-term coping skills to manage your symptoms and improve your quality of life.
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is an evidenced-based treatment for trauma recovery. EMDR involves integrating bilateral stimulation (eye movements, alternating taps to both sides of the body, alternating audio) to help process and release stuck memories and bring them to an adaptive resolution, thus reducing the associated emotional distress, reframing negative beliefs, and decreasing physiological arousal. EMDR is a powerful treatment that can effectively help you to recover from traumatic and adverse life experiences, including but not limited to: childhood abuse and neglect, sexual assault, grief and loss, combat trauma, chronic medical illnesses, and major accidents or other significant life events. Attachment-focused EMDR is the cornerstone of the Parnell Institute’s training, emphasizing both the adaptive resolution of trauma and the relationship between the therapist and client.
The Gottman Institute is renowned for their research and development of the Gottman Method for couples therapy. The Gottman Method helps couples develop skills to improve their communication, manage conflict effectively, and cultivate a deeper and healthier relationship. These skills help couples to have greater long-term happiness and satisfaction in their relationships. If you are experiencing frequent conflict or poor communication, lack of emotional depth or intimacy, are feeling disconnected from one another, or experiencing any other relationship concerns, the Gottman Method can support your journey as a couple towards building a stronger and happier relationship.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a powerful treatment tool based on the premise that the way we perceive a situation (or an event, trigger, incident) is more likely to determine our reaction than the actual situation itself. When individuals have distorted ways of interpreting situations, it can lead to significant distress or impairment, often causing maladaptive behavioral patterns as a result. CBT can help you to better identify and subsequently adaptively evaluate your thoughts and challenge negative thought patterns, thus beginning the process of making positive behavioral changes. CBT is an illustrious tool that can help you to develop long-term coping skills that effectively reduce the problematic patterns that you find yourself repeating in your life and relationships.

As an integrative psychotherapist, I’m immensely passionate about creating a safe and nonjudgmental space for clients to explore the deepest parts of themselves. Given our inherently complex nature as humans, I mindfully tailor my practice to meet the unique needs of every individual regardless of their situation. I utilize a trauma-informed, psychodynamic approach while integrating Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) to help clients develop insight, build upon strengths, and break free from old patterns. Additionally, through the use of various somatic practices, I aim to strengthen clients’ mind-body connection and facilitate a holistic healing experience overall.
Though growth and transformation aren’t always easy, they often illuminate our potential and enable us to step into our power. I’m committed to working collaboratively with every client, placing them at the center of the therapeutic process and empowering them to take an active role in their healing. The opportunity to support others through this journey and guide them toward a life of freedom, fulfillment, and authenticity is an honor.
Relationships can be profoundly impactful given that they are at the heart of the human experience. Most of the foundational aspects of our lives are shaped by our social world, affecting the ways in which we relate to others, view ourselves, and process emotions. By establishing a strong connection with my clients, I utilize a relational framework to help them explore their attachment patterns and overcome barriers to communication, trust, boundary-setting and more. In developing a deeper level of self-awareness and adopting new ways of approaching relationships, individuals can strengthen their sense of self, experience greater stability, and significantly improve their overall wellbeing.
Due to the long term impact of certain experiences, I incorporate Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) into my practice to help free clients from cycles of distress. With the ability to enhance the body’s natural healing mechanisms, EMDR allows us to process mental, emotional, and physiological information on a deeper level than with traditional talk therapy alone. As a result, clients can be relieved of the painful baggage they have been carrying and truly begin to integrate.
Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder is extremely distressing and often leads to exhausting ways of functioning. I utilize Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) to help clients reduce their anxiety and break free from the mental and behavioral thought patterns that occur as a result. This modality assists clients in moving past cyclical responses that don’t serve them and supports them developing the lasting coping skills they need to manage their symptoms effectively and take back control of their lives.

As a therapist, I am committed to creating a safe and empathetic space where you can explore your emotions, deepen your self-awareness, and cultivate a fulfilling life.
I have a warm and curious manner, and I welcome all parts of you into our work together. I have experience working with people struggling with life transitions, stress, self-esteem, depression, anxiety, OCD and trauma.
I have training in several therapeutic modalities such as Internal Family Systems Therapy (IFS), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC), and other evidence-based practices. This blend allows me to assist you in exploring the complexities of your inner life, understanding your patterns and relationships, and cultivating self-compassion as you work towards healing and personal transformation. My hope for your therapy is that you will feel empowered to explore, accept, and integrate all aspects of yourself.
IFS therapy can be effective in treating a variety of issues, including trauma, anxiety, depression, and relationship challenges. IFS is a therapeutic approach that views the mind as made up of distinct "parts," each with its own perspectives and roles. By addressing the underlying conflicts among a person's internal parts, IFS helps individuals understand and integrate their internal experiences, heal from past wounds, and develop healthier coping mechanisms.
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) can be very helpful for people dealing with trauma from experiences including, but not limited to, abuse, sexual assault, grief, combat, chronic illness, or serious accidents. EMDR utilizes bi-lateral stimulation, such as eye movements, taps on both sides of the body, or sounds to help process stuck and painful memories. During this process, painful memories become integrated into adaptive, rather than maladaptive, memory networks and can be brought to a healthier resolution. This can reduce emotional pain, change negative thoughts, lower stress, and decrease other symptoms associated with trauma. EMDR is well-researched and has a large amount of evidence showing it to be effective in treating trauma.
OCD can be overwhelming and often leads to draining patterns of functioning that serve to avoid fears and triggers. ERP helps individuals learn how to tolerate the anxiety that comes along with OCD and to stop engaging in mental and behavioral compulsions. This allows individuals to turn their focus and energy back into life as they want to live it. ERP is understood to be the most effective therapeutic intervention for OCD and is considered the “gold standard” for treatment.
